Good day!
Coming up next is Pho King (9103 118 Ave). I used to drive 118 Ave every day to go to school many years ago, 118 Ave was well known for being a overly shady part of Edmonton but in the recent years they have made efforts to promote 118 Ave as a family friendly and trendy street. They have done a really good job bringing in different ethnic restaurants in the location so it’s been nice to drive down the street and see what’s going on and what’s new.
Offered here is ‘Satay Beef Noodle Soup, King Sized‘ for $7.95, the soup has a light brownish colour and is drizzled with a healthy dose of chili oil. Accompanied with the soup is a very generous amount of green onions, some onion slices and sprigs of cilantro. There’s a very prominent aroma wafting from the broth, but I can’t place what it is though. The broth is somewhat salty with a overly beefy and oniony flavour with a nice warming amount of spiciness with it as well. The noodles are quite soft and the amount of beef in the meal is very minimal. Overall, for the price of the meal, Pho King does a pretty ‘pho king’ decent job…there, there’s my pun, I had to restrain myself from doing it the whole review.
